The main house
Our centrepiece:
The Landgasthof Linde
It is the symbiosis between rich history, smart hospitality and familial amiability that makes for the special atmosphere at the Linde. Add to that the charming rooms in the main house, at the Landhaus Erna and the Landhaus Luise – located just a few steps away – and you get an oasis that is perfect for all those looking for something special, a timeless refuge from the hustle and bustle of the modern world.
Our rooms
A good night's rest times three
at the Linde.
Our lovingly furnished rooms and suites all have their own special character and charm. They are spread out over three buildings – the main house, the Landhaus Erna and the Landhaus Luise – and invite you to enter, to leave the daily routine behind, to enjoy life in all its abundance and beauty.
Our oasis of comfort
Relax, enjoy
and live the good life in the Zillertal valley.
Far from the hustle and bustle of daily life, in the centre of Stumm – one of the last remaining original villages in the Zillertal valley – you will find a small oasis. Surrounded by meadows and imposing mountains, and featuring a paradisiacal garden, the Linde is like a calm anchor. Here, indulgence is celebrated in its many different aspects, from the exclusive Linden-SPA to the cosy rooms to the restaurant where wonderful aromas come wafting from the kitchen all day long.
A place full of history
500 years of Tyrolean hospitality
and familial amiability.
Upon opening the solid doors of the Linde, one will immediately sense the special character of this place that is steeped in history. There is a sense of homecoming, and the love and care that has permeated the house for many years is obvious at once. The Linde was first mentioned in documents in 911, when it was an outbuilding of the neighbouring manor, and in 1506 – more than 500 years ago – the Landgasthof Linde was granted the right to serve guests. Since 1857, the Linde has been in the possession of the Ebster family. The Tyrolean freedom fighter Andreas Hofer and Otto von Habsburg, the last crown prince of Austria-Hungary, were among the most notable visitors.
Around 1730, a linden tree was planted in the inn's courtyard, and it is that tree that lends its name to the imposing estate. Unfortunately, the “old Linde” was felled by a hurricane-like storm on July 18, 2023, but it will soon be replaced by a new one. The brewery in Zell am Ziller (known as Zillertal Bier) has been providing the Linde with its fine beer creations since the early 15th century. This pays testament to the loyalty that is an intrinsic characteristic of the Linde and its owners: From early on, the Ebster family and the entire Linde team have been providing guests with a combination of benevolence, zest for life, indulgence and hospitality.
